HIV/AIDS Fact of the Day
Provided by AIDS/LifeCycle
For every rider and roadie on AIDS/LifeCycle this year, there are 375 people living with HIV/AIDS in the U.S.
The seventh ride of the Aids/LifeCycle will begin this June from the 1st to the 7th. The trek will start in San Francisco and end in Los Angeles. I know one of my friends will ride the journey to help end AIDS. Every rider had to raise a minimum of $2,500 and I’m glad to see that he’s done it. Every bit counts, no matter how large or small.
Anyways, if you’d like to make a donation just visit the website.
It’s not too late. And if you happen to be in the ride or know someone who will be make sure they say what’s up to my friend Steven because he’ll be riding by himself. Donations will go towards the San Francisco Aids Foundation and the LA Gay & Lesbian Center.
Boo AIDS!
Here’s the route the many riders will be taking.

Yes, you Filipinos out there, you heard it right. There is a clothing brand out there named after one of the most popular transportation vehicles in the motherland. Anyways, if you didn’t know Jeepney Clothing Brand has been in function for about two years now giving people “Pinoy Art-Driven” style on their clothes. They’re based out of Seattle, Washington but have retailers nationwide selling their items. One of the co-owners is Filipino and his name is Rex, the last name is a mystery to me. This is from their site:
“The Jeepney is a mobile assemblage of signs and decorative motifs found along the streets of Metro Manila. After World War II, surplus American G.I. Jeeps were converted into public utility vehicles and decorated with lavish art and color with each owner’s individual, distinct look. Today, Jeepney clothing has carried this same concept of expression into the apparel world. Our brand represents a unique style that is universal in appeal and crosses over into a diverse mix of genres in the global street culture market. This is artistic expression. This is Jeepney.”
I’m all for the climbing of Filipinos in the social ladder so it’s definitely a happy surprise to find this brand having early success. They specialize in graphic shirts and they’re mostly for the hip-hop and urban fashionistas who like to don bright colors to go with their usually bright kicks. Anyways, here are some of their shirts they released this summer:

from left to right: Death to Emcee, Back in the Days, Dime Pieces
I’m really digging all three of these shirts but if I had to choose one you know I’m getting the Dime Piece tee because every guy needs his dime piece. Ya dig!
Visit jeepneyclothing.com for more information on their company and other clothes.
